Effect of nickel on improving steel strength and corrosion resistance

Nickel has certain strength and good ductility. The addition of nickel in stainless steel can enhance the corrosion resistance of steel, and can achieve strong, ductile and solid welding, thus ensuring that stainless steel can be used in solid and durable structures. Similar structures include the New St. George Bridge in Italy designed by Renzo Piano.

The new bridge was built after the disastrous collapse of the old bridge. Reinforcement is the key link to ensure the durability of bridges. The mechanical strength and corrosion resistance of the new bridge are ensured by using stainless steel reinforcement.
